BENJAMIN pavard

Benjamin Pavard, Inter Milan's defender, gave an interview to TeleFoot via Italian website Fcinter1908.it. Here are his words:

"I am very happy in Milan, I feel really good: I’m at a fantastic club, and I’m very happy.

I came to Inter Milan to win the Scudetto and the second star, and we did it. Now the hard part is confirming ourselves, but we want to win every possible trophy.

The Inter Milan fans

They like me because they see that I honor the shirt in every match: that’s why they appreciate me.

If someone had told me that by the age of 28 I would have won all these trophies, I wouldn’t have believed it. But my father always says to leave nothing behind: I always set myself goals and do everything to achieve them.

Returning to the French national team

I missed it a lot; it’s strange to watch my teammates on TV. I took the time to recharge and came back stronger.

Being a reserve at the Euros? I prefer to play, but we must stay positive for the group: I was ready physically and mentally, but the important thing is the group.

There is no time to reflect in football; you must always challenge yourself. The best is yet to come.

There is a lot of respect for Deschamps; if there is something I need to improve, he will tell me: there’s no concern.

Have I thought about retiring from the French national team? No, because I love the shirt and I want to play: I haven’t played much lately, but I’m still young (laughs).

I am versatile: at Inter Milan, I play in a three man defence. It will be up to the coach to decide; I’m ready."

Then Marcus Thuram intervenes: "It’s been amazing to have such a young player in the French team (laughs).

He’s having fantastic performances at Inter Milan as well, and we hope he continues like this," were his words.
