First hat-trick in the Nerazzurri colours for the French forward, pivotal in the 3-2 victory over Torino in the seventh round of Serie A
The ball from Inter Milan vs. Torino is going home with Marcus Thuram.
Three goals, his first hat-trick in the Nerazzurri shirt, and three points secured.
The 3-2 victory at San Siro came in a match that was dominated but also strange, with the French striker as the standout player.
This marks his first hat-trick in the Inter Milan jersey and the second of his career (his first was for Borussia Mönchengladbach against Oberachern in the DFB-Pokal on 31 July 2022).
Thuram currently leads the Serie A scoring charts with 7 goals, tied with Mateo Retegui
Following his brace against Genoa and another double against Atalanta, he has now registered multiple goals in a match once again, this time in a game that ended with the number 3. Two of his goals were headers.
In fact, the last player to score a header brace for Inter Milan in a single match was Mauro Icardi back on 19 November 2017, against Atalanta.
Thuram is the third Inter Milan player to score a hat-trick against Torino in Serie A, following Roberto Boninsegna on 3 March 1974, and Edwin Ronald Firmani on 28 December 1958.
He has now scored 13 goals this calendar year, trailing only Vlahovic, who has 14.
The fans at San Siro relished the performance, with chants of "Siam venuti fin qua per vedere segnare Thuram' (We came all this way to see Thuram score) echoing repeatedly throughout the match.
“I hadn’t scored in a few matches, and today I got three.
I'm happy; it's always great to score at San Siro, but the important thing is the victory. I don’t think about the top scorer standings, it doesn’t concern me.
I work hard in training to improve my finishing and be more aggressive, but the most important thing is to have confidence and help the team. If I score, of course, that’s better.
We haven't changed from last year, we’re the same Inter Milan.
I work well with Lautaro, just like last season. The truth is that every match in Serie A is difficult and complicated.
Our focus is solely on giving our best, and we have new players who are helping us.
Winning before the break was important for me to go with the national team feeling more relaxed.”
