asllani

Inter Milan and Kristjan Asllani together until 2028. The Nerazzurro midfielder has reflected on his emotions surrounding the contract renewal in an exclusive interview with Inter TV:

For someone like you who has admired this team since childhood, what does it mean to you today to have extended your contract with Inter?

“For me, it’s always been a dream to play for this team and it’s always an honour to wear this shirt. This contract is a source of pride, but I take it as a point from which I can build on: there are some things that I can definitely work on and develop. I train everyday with champions and I am happy to have them as my teammates: this renewal has come as a result of their help”.

It’s now your third season at Inter Milan. In what way do you think you have grown in respect to when you arrived in June 2022?

“I have definitely grown,  when I arrived I was just a 20 year-old kid, now I’m nearly 23. I have grown mentally, I was also like a kid away from the field: having champions by my side means a lot, but I think I’ve grown in a lot of aspects".

You have grown alongside the team in these years: the players have changed, but the spirit of this group has always stayed the same.

“There’s always the desire to win and lift trophies. I want to thank the boys from the first year that I spent here, but also those from last year because they all helped me and made me understand what it means to be an Inter player".

After the Scudetto win, what are your personal objectives and objectives with the team for this season?

“On a personal level, I definitely want to improve everyday because it’s what I need: I’m still 22 and I know that I can improve in many areas. In terms of the team, Inter will always try and win whenever its possible: we will try to win some trophies, even though it’s not an easy task. Reaffirming yourself is difficult: but we will give it our all”.
