Still no goals, in obvious lack of fit and, inevitably, also in the dumps: these are the reasons behind the beginning of the season anything but exciting Lautaro Martinez.
Inter Milan, to start again after the defeat in the derby, needs its captain.
The Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport analyses the reasons for this situation:
"It was the 17th of August, Alessandro Bastoni had read it perfectly: «It’s as if the seasons never end, 20 days stop can not be defined holiday, you have trouble holding mentally».
One month later, Inter Milan is slowly moving forward in its season.
The explanation given by the Nerazzurri is that, even the effects of this particular season, almost welded to the previous one.
It is not so much a matter of fatigue, but rather of condition: many, perhaps too many, in Appiano are still late, from Calhanoglu to Pavard.
Captain Lautaro leads the group despite his own in this way: the farthest from a brilliant condition is just him".
"That it is no coincidence that he is one of the players who did not take full advantage of those famous twenty days mentioned by Bastoni after the 2-2 of his debut against Genoa.
Lautaro, squeezed from last season, returned early from holiday and started playing again before those who worked in Appiano for several weeks before him: see Taremi, ko in pre-season (as Zielinski and De Vrij).
Inter Milan opened the season with Lautaro regularly in pitch, but far from the top condition.
Lautaro stopped for a fatigue and when he recovered commitments with Argentina in early September broke the rhythm again.
The result is a striker that doesn't score a goal: the bench of Manchester did not help him to find his form and after the knockout in the derby it was Lautaro himself who raised the alarm: «When one feels late as I feel is it not easy.»".
