Inzaghi: "I’m absolutely delighted, we played a great match"
A dominant Inter Milan at the Bentegodi scores 5 goals and takes all 3 points: the coach's comments after the match
A dominant 5-0 victory. Inter Milan triumphs at Hellas Verona’s stadium, delivering a spectacular five-goal performance in the 13th round of Serie A.
At the end of the match, Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts:
"I’m very happy with the team's performance; they played a great match. Correa has been working well since July 13th, the competition is tough, but today he played excellently.
For sure, Lautaro would have been on the bench if it weren’t for his fever, but Correa was sure he was going to play. I just had to choose between Arnautovic and Thuram.
In the second half, I needed to give some players like Barella and Bastoni a break, as they had played with the national team, and on top of that, I had the issue with Carlos Augusto returning from injury.
The only concern right now is Acerbi, but he said it shouldn’t be anything serious. We’ll see in the next few days.
I think Marcus has improved a lot in terms of finishing; he was excellent tonight, showing great desire and focus, and he's really earning some well-deserved rewards.
Bisseck did well, worked hard, and is playing his cards in the best possible way. We still need 7-8 points to reach the Champions League knockout stages, and now we face two tough German teams.
We need to be ready against Leipzig, as they’re second in the Bundesliga."
