Inzaghi: "Great second half. We’re confident for the return"

The statements of the Nerazzurri coach after the 1-1 draw against Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal. 

The match ends 1-1 between Milan and Inter in the 2024/25 Coppa Italia semifinal. Everything happened in the second half, with Abraham opening the scoring. 

In the 67th minute, Calhanoglu scored the equalizer with a precise and powerful right-footed shot. 

The Nerazzurri then looked for the go-ahead goal several times, but without luck.

At the end of the match, Coach Simone Inzaghi’s words:

"It was an intense derby, we could have taken the lead in the first half with De Vrij and Frattesi, then in the second half, they went ahead, but I think we played better, creating many chances against a strong team with excellent players. I watched the first goal again, and there was a rebound that favored them, but the team didn’t lose its composure, and we played a great second half. It was a well-played game by my players; tonight we had 14 outfield players plus some Primavera players. Dimarco and Arnautovic had some fatigue, and it was better not to take risks because we need to protect all our players. We’ve reached April with a lot of pride, we know we have many games ahead, and my dream is to have all the players available. We look forward with confidence to what lies ahead, I’m lucky to coach this group, and I’m proud of their dedication and sense of belonging."
