Here comes Federico Dimarco, to the joy of Simone Inzaghi and all of Inter Milan's world: no winger in Europe is worth as much as him.
Federico Dimarco is back, to the delight of Simone Inzaghi and all of Inter Milan's world.
The Inter Milan coach smiles at the return of his starting left-back, as highlighted by Tuttosport according to Fcinter1908.it today. "He’s good for the immune system, strengthens the body, and even boosts morale. To make Inter Milan even more performant in the sprint toward the Tricolore, we just needed him – the Dimarco vitamin.
Energy that pumps strongly in the left side of the Nerazzurri body, as much as the Inter Milan spirit that runs through the winger’s veins. We left him with a gem of a free-kick at Maradona, and now Simone Inzaghi finds him again against Udinese, as planned.
The muscle strain in his thigh has been overcome, as has the emergency on the left flank for Inter Milan, since the returning player is not just any winger.

If market evaluations mean anything, Dimarco can currently boast of being the most valuable left-back in the Old Continent. No winger is worth as much as Dimarco."
According to the specialized portal Transfermarkt, his market value is consistently around 60 million euros (£50, 2 million) – at his position, no one is worth as much as him right now.
Not that he cares much about how this could affect real life, as Dimarco has only Inter Milan on his mind. Inter Milan considers Dimarco a cornerstone of the team, and therefore the partnership will continue peacefully, even if someone tries to put a figure like that on the table. It goes without saying that finding such a key player back at this point of the season is a great relief.
Previous encounters with Udinese
Especially since in recent years, whenever Dimarco faces Udinese at San Siro, he’s always decisive.
In the 2022/23 season, Inter Milan-Udinese on February 18 ended 3-1, and Dimarco provided an assist (for the 2-1 goal, scored by Mkhitaryan).
Fast-forwarding to more recent times, in the 2024 season, the match Inter Milan-Udinese on December 9 ended 4-0, with Dimarco putting in an overall monstrous performance and even scoring a goal with his left foot, the 2-0.
When he faces the Friulians at San Siro, the winger is often a protagonist – and, importantly, Inter Milan wins.
It will therefore be crucial to try to continue this positive trend, especially since while Dimarco was recovering from his muscle injury and could not be on the field, his teammates managed to dig out that three-point lead over Napoli, which at this point in the calendar might not be a huge cushion, but it’s close. At least it must be maintained, with Dimarco’s help.
By the way, in 2025, Dimarco has yet to score a goal at the stadium where he was a fan as a child. His last goal at home was on December 6, 2024, in the 3-1 win over Parma.
Chasing this record
Although it’s true that Dimarco is not exactly a goal-scoring machine, it’s also true that by scoring another goal (he currently has 4 goals and 4 assists in the league), he would reach the 5-goal mark in Serie A, his best so far – a limit set last year when Inter Milan won the second star.
The numbers say that last season Federico scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in the league, and the feeling is that this year, the year in which he’s establishing himself as the best left-back in Europe, he might do even better.
