Marcus Thuram returns to Milan. The Inter Milan striker, who was a key player in the victory against Atalanta yesterday, had answered the call of the French national team coach, but will immediately return to Italy.
The decision from Deschamps, communicated by the French Football Federation in an official statement, comes after checks by the national team’s medical staff.

Thuram will now be able to work to fully recover from the ankle issue that has been troubling him: “Suffering from a left ankle injury, the Inter Milan striker will not be able to participate in the two-match series against Croatia on March 20 and 23 in the Nations League.”
Called up by Didier Deschamps among the twenty-four players selected for the Nations League quarter-finals against Croatia, Marcus Thuram arrived at the National Football Centre in Clairefontaine (Yvelines) on Monday afternoon.
The striker was examined by Dr. Franck Le Gall before undergoing tests. Dealing with recurring pain in his left ankle, Marcus Thuram will not be able to play in the matches scheduled for Thursday, March 20 in Split (20:45) and Sunday, March 23 at the Stade de France against Croatia (20:45).
Didier Deschamps has therefore decided to make him available to his club. Currently, the coach has a group of twenty-three players.
