The central defender continues to provide strong guarantees after his early season injuries: he will be crucial in the next three matches.
Physical issues, with all due precautions, seem to be behind him now. Francesco Acerbi is once again the cornerstone of Inter Milan’s defense, as evidenced by his outstanding performances against various strikers in the league.

The Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport via Fcinter1908.it is already looking ahead to the upcoming matches: "He returned at just the right moment. Moreover, after a complicated first half of the season, affected by injuries, the last of which kept him out for almost 3 months, Acerbi is just made that way—once he’s back, he takes very little time to get back to full form.
Additionally, his performance standard is always extremely high. The latest to experience this firsthand was Retegui, completely nullified during the Atalanta match before the break. A few weeks earlier, Kean had felt the full force of Acerbi: unstoppable in the match at Franchi, with a brace, he was completely neutralized at San Siro, where he faced the former Lazio player.
Just to put it into perspective, Retegui and Kean are the two top scorers in the league: 22 goals for the former, 15 for the latter. So the upcoming opponents are warned.
Now Acerbi faces another trio of challenges in quick succession: Lucca of Udinese, Gimenez of Milan, and Kane of Bayern.
A kind of rising difficulty, therefore. This is an inevitable prospect, given the Nerazzurri’s journey through the league, Coppa Italia, and Champions League. It starts already on Sunday with Udinese visiting San Siro.
Lucca, in fact, had already scored in the first leg, but only in the final moments, and moreover, with De Vrij in the center of the defense. Acerbi, however, wasn't perfect in that instance. So there’s an additional reason to raise his focus for the upcoming match."
