Zalewski wins over Inzaghi: doubts about his future resolved

The winger is having an excellent season at Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri club has already made a decision regarding his future for next season.

Having returned from injury, Zalewski immediately made himself available to Inzaghi and was useful in the final moments of the Coppa Italia match against Milan.

His debut in the 1-1 draw in February, with an assist that allowed De Vrij to equalize at the last minute, was the splash that immediately captured San Siro. 

The substance of his performances over the past months has done the rest, including that crucial foot in the build-up to Calhanoglu's 1-1 goal against Milan in the Coppa Italia semifinal on Wednesday.

"The option to buy for €6.5 million (£5,5 million) will most likely be exercised in June, and Nicola will officially become a permanent Inter Milan player. 

That the club’s management was betting on the winger developed at Roma was clear even from the negotiations in January. 

Initially, the discussion had been based on a simple loan, but Inter Milan insisted on securing the option to buy, ensuring the possibility of securing the Roma talent long-term. 

This strategy has proved to be the right one. Because in just a couple of months, Zalewski has impressed Inzaghi, presenting himself as a valid alternative to the regular starters on both wings, and now he has his sights set on Bayern.
