Inzaghi: "Great victory, achieved with all our efforts"
Frattesi's brace and Lautaro's goal secure the win against Empoli: the words of the Nerazzurri coach at the end of the match
Following the match against Empoli, Inter Milan returns home with a trio of goals and plenty of positive signs.
Frattesi's first brace in the Nerazzurri shirt, Lautaro becoming the sole leading foreign scorer in the history of Inter Milan, Palacios's debut, and a game filled with great organization and quality.
Here are Simone Inzaghi's comments at the end of the match.
“The lads were fantastic. It wasn’t easy. Empoli had put in strong performances against Juventus and Napoli.
In the first half, we managed the ball well and I mentioned that Empoli would tire over time, allowing us to find the goal. It was an excellent victory that we wanted with all our strength. As for Lautaro, we are all pleased for him.
We understand how important it is for a striker to score. He’s always a solution for us and has consistently performed well. I kept him on the pitch because I wanted him to get that confidence.
I’m happy for him and for Davide, but individual achievements always come after team success. Palacios is a young player who is working extremely hard. The lads were really pleased with his debut. He trains a lot and trains well.
He needs to learn from his more experienced teammates but there will be rewards for him. This victory serves as a response for us. Over the past two and a half days, after watching the game on Sunday, something didn’t sit right with me. We deserved more but we probably needed to do more.”
