Nerazzurri dominate on Champions League MD2: Calhanoglu, Arnautovic, Lautaro and Taremi score.

A comprehensive victory for Inter Milan in the second matchday of the Champions League phase.

A dominant performance saw Crvena zvezda dismantled in a 4-0 win that could have been even more emphatic.

After a draw in their opener against City, these three vital points put Inter Milan in a strong position.

Next European challenge: 23 October away against Young Boys.

The scoring was opened by a stunning free-kick from Hakan Calhanoglu, his first for Inter Milan from a set piece.

In the eleventh minute, his right-footed shot from distance left Ilic helpless. It was a goal of exceptional beauty.

Inter Milan dominated the first half, creating numerous chances. Two goals were disallowed for offside (Arnautovic in the third minute, Dumfries on 20'), with additional attempts from Pavard and Mkhitaryan.

Crvena zvezda only managed to trouble Sommer with a few efforts from young Maksimovic.

The second half followed the same script, with Inter Milan pushing for more goals to seal the win and boost their goal difference.

Taremi took centre stage, winning the ball and setting up Arnautovic for an easy finish to make it 2-0.

Despite Inter Milan’s onslaught, Glazer stood firm, denying Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto from adding to the scoreline.

However, he couldn't stop Lautaro Martinez, who came off the bench for Arnautovic. The captain, once again set up by Taremi after another interception and assist, slotted home with his left foot and celebrated passionately with the fans, evoking memories of his iconic celebration in the Champions League derby.

The fourth goal was delivered by Mehdi Taremi himself.

After Lautaro was brought down in the box, he handed the ball to Taremi, who calmly scored his first Nerazzurri goal from the spot, sealing the 4-0 win to the delight of the Inter Milan faithful.
