The subject of Inter Milan's future is back on the agenda. Oaktree ponders the possibility of opening up to divestment, with Goldman Sachs making a move
The subject of Inter Milan's future is back on the agenda.

The Nerazzurri, in fact, have come under the control of Oaktree but the American fund is not, by nature, destined to be a long-lasting property.

And there is already the first interest to buy the club, proposed by the investment bank Goldman Sachs.
The Italian financial newspaper of record Il Sole 24 Ore reports on it at length today.
"To sell more quickly or wait three years before valuing the investment?
This is the question that is circulating at the headquarters in Oaktree, California. The object of contention is the controlling stake in Inter Milaan, which since last spring has ended up in the hands of Oaktree, after the enforcement of the pledge on the loan granted to Steven Zhang.

Several merchant banks, among them the American Goldman Sachs would, in fact, have proposed in recent months some potential interlocutors for the purchase of the Nerazzurri club.

But none of the interests would then have had a concrete development" the newspaper points out.
"It must be said that Oaktree is a fund and as such evaluates all opportunities. But in the case of Inter Milan, the issue is debated between Milan and Los Angeles.

Among the proponents of a stay of at least three years is Alejandro Cano, Oaktree's Spanish manager for the Global Opportunities strategy and a great football fan" the Il Sole 24 Ore further points out.
