In an interview with TycSports, Inter Milan's vice president, Javier Zanetti, discussed several topics, including Lautaro, the club's goals, and the future of Bologna's Castro.
“Vinicius is not the best. He is certainly one of the best strikers in the world, but for me, he is not the best.”
"Bringing players from the Argentina national team to Inter Milan? We already have Lautaro, and that makes me happy. If he asked me to bring Romero to Milan? It's not easy, because we're talking about very expensive players.
The sustainability of the club is a challenge for everyone, and it's a crucial aspect. But who wouldn’t want players from the Argentina national team? For me, Romero is a complete defender. I was just talking about this before the interview, at lunch with some friends.

Argentina has the luxury of having a defender who can play, who marks, who stays focused, and who is a leader. I like him a lot. He’s one of those old-school defenders, because, as I said, he’s truly complete. He’s crucial for Argentina, and he’s proven that not only in every match but in every decisive moment. His presence and personality are worth highlighting."
How much does it weigh on Lautaro not being with the national team today?
"A lot. It weighs on him very much because he feels a deep commitment to the Argentina national team. He would have liked to play against Uruguay, as well as this match, a World Cup classic. But these things happen. Injuries are part of our work.
It happened to Lautaro, but fortunately, it’s nothing serious like it seemed at first. Now the goal is to get him back for the final part of the season, which will be very intense for us. Between the Champions League, the league, the Coppa Italia semifinals, and finally, the Club World Cup, there are still a lot of games to play.
First of all, Santi Castro is doing very well at Bologna. Honestly, every time he plays, beyond the goals he can score, you can see that he’s a very involved player. He’s currently a Bologna player, but I believe that great talents, especially young ones who are showing themselves, will always be on the radar of the best clubs in the world. They’re young, they have clear growth potential, and without a doubt, we’re talking about forwards. For this reason, many international clubs will surely be following him."
Will we win the championship?
"We are there, we are first. Napoli is three points behind, Atalanta six. Winning against Atalanta was very important. Nine games remain. As I was saying earlier, besides the league, we also have other commitments: two Coppa Italia semifinals, and not against just anyone, but against Milan, our historic rival.
Then we face Bayern in the Champions League quarterfinals. There are many challenges ahead. We really hope to achieve our goals and close the season with a great accomplishment. It would be the right reward for the huge work done by the coaching staff, and of course, by this group of players who, for the past four or five years, have shown consistency and quality in their play. We are focused on this, aiming to go all the way with great expectations."
Some are betting on Inter Milan as champions of Europe?
"Thank you, thank you. We need fans from all over the world. And we truly hope that this is our opportunity. We know that the Champions League is a very difficult competition. We have to face Bayern, and for me, it will be two beautiful games to play. Bayern is a club with a great tradition, with very strong players, and it will be two very balanced challenges."
