Inzaghi: "A great Inter Milan, we deserved the win"
The words of the Nerazzurri coach after the 1-1 draw against Napoli at the San Siro
A hard-fought and intense match, which saw Inter Milan and Napoli face each other with great energy.
It was a chess match, full of interesting tactical solutions, with Inter Milan tidy from the first to the last minute.
A positive proof that of the Nerazzurri, who missed the victory by a matter of details, as underlined by Simone Inzaghi in the post-match:
“I am satisfied with the performance of my players, I congratulated the team: if there is a team that should have won today it is us.
In the second half there was no match, in the first one we went down by a loose ball where we should have done better.
Napoli are very strong, even more so when seen in real life: after what we spent on Wednesday with Arsenal I didn't expect a match like that, in the second half I didn't even want to make the changes because we were square and didn't lose, plus we took two posts and missed a penalty.
There is a great physical growth, we were very good against a Napoli full of quality. It will be a balanced championship, but I saw a great Inter Milan: Sommer didn't make an intervention, we created without conceding almost anything to Napoli, who are deservedly leading the standings.
We're trying to erase the goals we conceded, we're improving a lot and with work we'll improve even more. These last two games leave me calm, there is great confidence: but then football is strange: in the goal conceded there is a deflection and the defensive marker that keeps McTominay in the game.
These are details, but we must remain united as we are, we have made 8 wins and two draws, even if we are Inter Milan and we would have preferred 10 out of 10”.
