De Vrij: "One game at a time: that's how great results come"

Inter Milan won narrowly against Leipzig at San Siro: after the game, the players shared their thoughts. 

The match was decided in the first half thanks to an own goal by Lukeba. Inter Milan won 1-0 against Leipzig in the fifth matchday of the Champions League, temporarily moving to the top of the group with 13 points, awaiting tomorrow's games.

After the match, Stefan De Vrij, Hakan Calhanoglu, Yann Sommer, and Yann-Aurel Bisseck gave their reactions:

"It was an intense and important match: we put in a great performance and achieved a great result. From the very beginning, we've always taken it one game at a time: that's the only way to get important results, even in the Champions League. I feel good physically and I'm always happy when I can help the team."

"We're happy and we know it was a tough game, but we got the win. We could have finished it earlier, but we kept another clean sheet and we need to keep going like this. 

We created a lot of chances in the first half, Leipzig is a strong team that plays high. It's been a tough period for me because of injuries, but I'm happy to be back."

Hakan Calhanoglu

"It was an important win, in the second half we suffered a bit, but we were organized in defense and only conceded one shot. 

The Champions League is always tough because it’s decided by details, but we did well to keep a clean sheet in these games. Now we need to focus on the next matches, starting with Fiorentina. 

I'm happy with the clean sheets, but it's really thanks to the whole team that we haven't conceded a goal yet."

Yann Sommer

"We're happy because it was a very difficult match, we played well, and we're happy with the three points. We wanted to score more goals, but the important thing was to defend our lead. 

We have a lot of confidence, we know we’re strong, and in the next games, we want to do well. I've grown a lot and I'm happy to be playing regularly and to have the coach's trust."
