Calhanoglu: "Intense match, we pushed hard for the win"
An incredible goal to equalise against Napoli, followed by a penalty hitting the post that denied the lead: the game and words of the Turkish midfielder
A masterpiece of a goal to level the score against Napoli, followed by his first missed penalty in a Nerazzurri shirt.
Hakan Calhanoglu experienced mixed emotions on this San Siro night, standing out as a key player with an incredible goal showcasing technique and power, only to see his penalty stopped by the post.
After the match, the Turkish midfielder shared his thoughts on the evening:
“I think that although we played on Wednesday against Arsenal, we dominated the game today.
We deserved more but we played a great game, we gave everything and tried to win. I'm sorry I missed my first penalty, I knew it would happen sooner or later but I'm sorry it happened today because it was a very important game for us, now I have to get up now because the championship is still long.
It was an intense game, with many duels, we tried a lot our attackers but the Napoli defenders worked well, then in the second half we went more on the fifth but we couldn't score goals, it was a very intense game.
Many teams have strengthened, with many new players, the championship is long and we want to be there, playing every 2 or 3 days is not easy but even today we tried and we gave everything on the pitch.”
