After the match, the Nerazzurri players' statements, from Barella, UEFA MVP of the match, to Sommer and De Vrij
The third day of the UEFA Champions League Championship phase ended with a precious victory, sought until the last minute and found with Thuram's goal: the Nerazzurri's post-match declarations.
It was a match of a thousand difficulties and a finale that smacks of pure joy that faced the Nerazzurri in Bern.
Against Young Boys, Inter Milan found the winning breakthrough in the 93rd minute with a goal of quality, courage and perseverance built up by Lautaro and Dimarco and finished off by Thuram.
After the match, the Nerazzurri players' statements, from Barella, UEFA MVP of the match, to Sommer and De Vrij:
"It was an open game, they had to do better in the beginning, we didn't make the most of the chances and they took courage but in the end we got a beautiful victory against a healthy team and we take it.
In Champions League there are no easy games, when a challenge gets complicated it's difficult to get it back on the right track but we managed it and we are happy with that."
Nicolò Barella
"It was a tough game, we knew it was difficult to play on this pitch and that Young Boys were more used to it than us.
In the end, though, I think it was a game we had to win, so what really counts is this success, which is really important.
I think they had some significant chances because we lost some balls too easily, but we also had several opportunities: I think it is a deserved three points. As for the penalty, I think that's how football is: it can happen to miss a penalty, but we remained focused and created new chances. Now we have to think about the next commitment."
Yann Sommer
"It's a very important victory, we were good at believing in it and bringing it home at the last minute. The clean sheet? We know we have to work, today we didn't concede a goal but they had chances.
We suffered but we were good at staying in the game and getting the win. Juventus? Now we'll start thinking about Sunday's game."
Stefan de Vrij
